STARBUCKS PUMPKIN SPICE K-CUPS

Welcome to day 24 of Tag Sale Tastes’ Pumpkinpalooza 2020!

Today I sampled Starbucks Pumpkin Spice K-Cups:

The individual cups make coffee brewing easy peasy:

I used the Keurig at my office to brew a cup, added sweetener and creamer, and settled in to enjoy my hot beverage:

And with this, I’m waving the white flag and calling an end to Pumpkinpalooza 2020.  This was putrid.  I managed one sip, and the rest went down the sink.  I understood why no one touched the K-cups I left in the office kitchen.  And I realized that there are so many other wonderful and delicious things that I associate with the fall season — like my favorite Pumpkin Ginger Bread — that I don’t want to waste any more time on these commercial pumpkin spice products.  So many of them were just plain bad, and even the ones I liked, I probably wouldn’t buy again (except for the Durham Pumpkin Pie Almonds, which were the bomb).  Bye bye pumpkin spice, I’m moving on.

PUMPKIN PIE LARABAR

Welcome to day 23 of Tag Sale Tastes’ Pumpkinpalooza 2020!

Today we are nibbling on a Pumpkin Pie Larabar:

The bright orange wrapper and a few fall leaves indicate this is a seasonal product.

This bar is a “magical harmony of fruits, nuts and spices that will lift your vitality and provide energy with every bite.”The ingredient list contains pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger — impressive pumpkin spice line up — along with dates, cashews, apples, and almonds.  It’s a virtuous little thing, isn’t it?Ready for the unveiling? The little bar is quite a bit smaller than the packaging suggests.  I like that you can see so many of the ingredients. The color is quite pumpkin-y, and the spices are present and accounted for.  I liked this tasty, chewy diminutive bar.  But I didn’t feel worthy of it.  This is pretty much predigested trail mix, for people who don’t have time to stop and chew their food — you know, like athletes.  For me to really enjoy this 200-calorie bar I’d have to be doing something other than sitting at my desk (or on my couch), i.e., something that requires fuel.
